The Electromagnetic Spectrum
The aim of this website is to convey how the electromagnetic spectrum plays a role within medicine. The electromagnetic spectrum incorporates all aspects of light from the longer wavelengths of radio waves to short higher energy wavelengths like gamma radiation.
We aim to explain this in a clear and logical fashion, by using analogies such as the 'Banana Scale' and the 'Tea Scale' which can be found in the 'background' section.
How to navigate the website
This website is separated into the different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum explained above. Each section is separated into: a background on that type of radiation, different parts for each medical procedure that uses that kind of radiation and a references section.

There is no particular order in which to view these parts but it is recommended that you view the background section first. This explains the scales used throughout the website and gives more information on the electromagnetic spectrum.
